Paula Colangelo believes in the power of poetry to connect and heal. She has taught poetry in healing arts therapy programs at a rehabilitation center and an assisted living residence. She has also taught English and ESL, volunteered in animal welfare, and served on the board of the Hudson Valley Writers Center.
Her poetry is published in The Comstock Review, Salamander, Sugar House Review, SWWIM
Every Day and Lily Poetry Review, among other journals. She has been nominated for The Pushcart Prize and her chapbook, Apartment Logic for Night Owls, was chosen as a semifinalist in the Flume Press Chapbook Contest. Her book reviews appear in Pleiades and Rain Taxi.
Paula holds an MFA in Poetry from Drew University where she received the Jane Coil Cole Scholarship. She graduated from Binghamton University’s English/Creative Writing Program and is the recipient of Binghamton University’s George R. Dunham Award, an Academy of American Poets Prize.
Earlier in her career, Paula worked in publishing and communications as an Editorial Assistant, and a freelance reporter.
